The
Jordan Harold Update
Summer 1995
1717 SW Park Ave #614 Portland OR -97201-

Things here are pretty grand. I think I could get to like this town.
Scratch that, I do like this town. We do a lot of walking, Jordan and
I, trying to get to know this place. The streets are filled with neat
things to see and faces that smile to say good day as we pass. This
city is very hilly though-(not flat Davis town my calves tell me) up
and over and up and over again down to the river through streets with
fountains and streets with green ways and parks.
We were out about ten minutes into the SouthWest Hills of Portland late
last week. Cooler they were, even green with homey looking houses and
place to garden. Perhaps a place to settle when all is said and done
after Louis gets out of school...
Yesterday we drove off towards the ocean through the coastal mountain
range. There were great stands of pine and carpets of curling ferns.
I was confused by what looked like forsythias but it is far too late
in the season for them. I was also greeted by hordes of fox gloves.
A long drive to the sea but a beautiful one Im sure well
do again. Next week are the Cougar hot springs!!!
Last week the Rose Festival started with about a half an hour of fireworks.
Sadly we couldnt see them from our window and since I had already
put Jordan to sleep on our bed we couldnt go out to watch them-so
I laid down among the toys (Bozos and Jordans, pretty much
interchangeable these days with Jordan so mobile-he is pulling himself
to standing now on anything that holds still long enough) and imaged
the fireworks....they were wonderful and sparkley fine.
